Maine DMR to Discuss Striped Bass Status Feb. 12 in Yarmouth

The Maine Department of Marine Resources will host an information session for anyone interested in the status of striped bass in Maine waters. This free event will be held 6 PM Tuesday, February 12 at the Log Cabin, 196 Main Street in Yarmouth.

This meeting is intended to discuss issues that recreational anglers, conservation groups, and resource managers believe are important for restoring and sustaining both native and migratory striped bass populations.

The presentation will include a discussion of research conducted by the Department of Marine Resources on the abundance of juvenile striped bass and a tagging program designed to better understand the state’s native striped bass population. Also discussed will be the results of striped bass angler surveys and the Department’s logbook program.
