Gander Mountain Sponsoring National Pheasant Fest

Outdoor and wild game cooking is a huge part of the “We live outdoors” passion that Gander Mountain fuels. During the ninth annual National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic in Minneapolis this weekend, Gander Mountain is sponsoring the event’s Wild Game Cooking Stage, where experts will discuss and demonstrate the art of turning a successful hunt into a delicious meal.

Pheasant Fest, sponsored by Pheasants Forever, runs Feb. 15-17 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The Wild Game Cooking Stage will host Georgia Pellegrini, author of “Girl Hunter” and Hank Shaw, author of “Hunt, Gather, Cook” for wild game cooking tips and demonstrations. In addition, Gander Mountain will offer attendees a display of their selection of outdoor cooking products, upland apparel and footwear and dog training equipment.

“For decades, Pheasant Fest has been a highlight of the winter in the Midwest, as hunting enthusiasts from throughout the region learn about efforts to preserve pheasant habitat and all of the latest gear for an enjoyable and successful hunt,” said Steve Uline, Gander Mountain’s executive vice president of marketing. “We are happy to play a role in this 30thannual event in Minneapolis and sponsor the Wild Game Cooking Stage, helping countless outdoors enthusiasts learn more about the art of cooking and enjoying the results of their time in the field.”

Gander Mountain has had a long-standing relationship with Pheasants Forever, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and is a proud supporter of the organization. Their partnership has included a popular sweepstakes promoting Pheasants Forever in 2011, where a few lucky fans won a chance to hunt pheasants with members of the Minnesota Wild hockey team. Gander Mountain is currently working with Pheasants Forever to plan another hunting cap giveaway at a Minnesota Wild game in the fall of 2013, and will again award a few lucky fans the opportunity to hunt with members of the team.

“Gander Mountain has long been a valued partner of Pheasants Forever’s wildlife habitat conservation mission,” said Bob St.Pierre, Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever’s vice president of marketing. “We are thrilled to celebrate our volunteers’ 30 years and nine million acres of habitat successes with our hometown friends from Gander Mountain at National Pheasant Fest this weekend at the Minneapolis Convention Center.”
