PAA Needs Your Vote to Secure Grant for New Youth Programs

The Professional Anglers Association (PAA) is in need of your help. Recently, PAA applied for a grant from the BoatUS Foundation’s Grass Roots Grant Program to pursue funding for some exciting new programs we have developed that would target today’s youth.

Under the new youth programs, PAA has worked to develop a curriculum that will teach today’s youth proper boating safety procedures and sound water conservation practices to develop better individual responsibility in today’s youth and an overall better “on the water” awareness. In these youth programs, PAA will utilize PAA pros as instructors and mentors to the youth through seminars and public events to pass on all facets of “professional” angling skills. Fees and expense reimbursements will be provided to PAA pros who participate.

PAA is very excited about these new programs and what they could bring to today’s youth and the fishing industry as a whole.  However, to pursue these youth programs PAA needs your help to secure the funding available through the BoatUS Foundation’s Grass Roots Grant Program.

PAA has been named a finalist for the BoatUS Grass Roots Grant Program. The winner(s) of the grant funding will now be decided by a public voting phase. Public voting will be open February 20 – March 6, 2013 and the public can only vote for one finalist project winner once per day. The PAA Board of Directors and staff would like to encourage you to vote for PAA’s youth programs each day within this voting period so that we can ensure PAA can get these youth programs initiated through this grant funding in 2013.  We cannot do this without your vote!  Please vote for PAA’s youth program today and everyday through March 6th!
