Milwaukee Journal Sports Show Introduces the All New Ladies Lodge

The all new Ladies Lodge will debut at the Midwest’s largest consumer sports show.

In its 73rd year, the annual the Milwaukee Journal Sports Show provides demonstrations, competitions, seminars, vendors and experts in the areas of hunting, fishing, camping, sporting dogs, target shooting, boating and more.

Intended to promote women in the outdoors the Ladies Lodge will feature well-known names in the outdoor industry such as HERCAMOSHOP and The Wild World of CarrieZ Hunting, Fishing and Outdoor Podcast. On display will be a photographic collection owned by Dan Basore of famous women in the outdoors. Cabela’s will be showcasing their ladies outdoor clothing line.

As a progressive show, the organizers knew that taking advantage of the fastest growing demographic in the outdoor industry was a smart move. Carefully selecting a handful of female advocates, their goal for the Ladies Lodge was to create a haven for women attendees interested in hunting, fishing and general outdoor activities.

“I’m super excited,” said Carrie Zylka, hostess of The Wild World of CarrieZ Podcast. “It’ll be a great place for women to talk one on one about resources and activities they might be interested in. I’m eager to let them know that there are many solo outdoorswomen happy to help them in any capacity needed. Whether that’s helping organize an all-female event or simply providing a real life role model that lets them know they can do it without any help.”

The Milwaukee Journal Sports Show runs Wednesday, March 6 through Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the Wisconsin State Fair Park Exposition Center, 8200 W. Greenfield Ave., West Allis, Wisconsin.
