2013 California Federal Junior Duck Stamp Contest Judging

Artwork from school-aged waterfowl artists throughout California will be judged during the 23rd Annual California Federal Junior Duck Stamp Contest (Contest), on Thursday, March 28, 2013. The Contest judging will be held from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Willows Memorial Hall in Willows, CA.
What you’ll see: A panel of up to 10 judges, including the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Pacific Southwest Regional Director Ren Lohoefener, will have the honor to select one Best of Show winner from the over 3,000 entries submitted this year. The Best of Show will be submitted to compete nationally with the other states during the National Junior Duck Stamp Design Contest on April 19, 2013. The national winning design will be made into the 2013-2014 Federal Junior Duck Stamp (Stamp) that will be sold for $5. In 2012, the California Best of Show artwork by Hyun Wang won third place at the national contest.
This event provides an excellent photographic opportunity for news media to show the artwork done by kindergarten through 12th grade students across the state. Many participants are from Butte, Glenn, and Colusa Counties.
Time, Date, Location: Thursday, March 28, 2013, at the Willows Memorial Hall in Willows, CA. The Contest judging will be held from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. The Best of Show will be chosen after 2:15 p.m.
