Morgan and Brown Win ASA AL Titles in Alabama

The second tournament of the season for the ASA was held March 8 – 10 in Phenix City, Alabama. This week, we saw won shooter get his first career pro win and we saw another continue his run of dominance. Art Brown and Levi Morgan walked off the course with the titles in their respective classes.
Levi Morgan is starting out 2013 like he ended the past several years. Morgan won the first ASA tournament of the season and he went to Alabama and did it again. Morgan had a final score of 495-26 and on his second straight ASA tournament of the year. Second place went to Thomas Gomez. Gomez had a final score of 492-15. Jack Wallace II had a score of 476-22 and finished in third. Mathews swept the podium in the Open Pro class for the second consecutive tournament. Jacob Marlow got his first top ten finish of the season with a final score of 416-12 and finished in 10th place.
In the Senior Pro class, Art Brown won his first pro tournament. Brown had a final score of 477-16 and won the title by 4 points. Mathews shooters finished with seven of the top ten finishers in the class. The rest of the top ten included: Lynn Morrison, 448-7, 4th place; Joe Brooks, 447-13, 5th place; Randall Jones, 407-11, 6th place; Phil Long, 407-10, 8thplace; Tipton Cook, 406-9, 9th place and Colin Boothe, 401-12 in 10th place.
In the Women’s Pro class, the top Mathews finisher was Kelly Ward. Ward had a final score of 454-11 and finished in second place. Third place went to Ginger Morehead, with a score of 453-11. Mathews finished with seven of the top ten finishers in the class. The rest of the top ten included: Kaitlyn Price, 449-7, 4th place; Samantha Morgan, 448-7, 5thplace; Sharon Carpenter, 395-7, 6th place; Andrea Nicholson, 394-7, 7th place and Danielle Stone, 390-8 in 9th place.
