Lucas Oil, the leading manufacturer of high-quality petroleum additives and oils for high performance engines, joins the Cabela’s National Walleye Tour (NWT) as an official sponsor for the 2013 season. Lucas Oil makes yet another strong addition to the group of sponsors committed to the NWT as it heads towards its inaugural 2013 season.
“Lucas Oil is an excellent addition to our group of partners,” said NWT Tournament Director Anthony Wright. “From the quality of their products to a shared passion for fishing, we’re excited to pass along the benefits of working with the Lucas Oil brand to our family of anglers.”
Headquartered in Corona, Calif., Lucas Oil provides high-performance oils, lubricants, car care products and fuel treatments to anglers and drivers alike. The partnership with the National Walleye Tour also includes the new Lucas Oil Angler and Co-Angler of the Year award. The winning anglers will receive customized rings, courtesy of Lucas Oil.
Lucas Oil not only makes quality oil products, but also owns several raceways where professional drivers test their merit. Lucas Speedway is the renovated 3/8-mile dirt track in Wheatland, Mo. The Wheatland facility short track racing destination is for pure stock, modified, late model, super late model, legends, bombers, bandoleros, sportsman and demolition derbies, as well as tractor pulling and a new state of the art drag boat racing facility.
In 2008, the Indianapolis Colts began calling Lucas Oil Stadium home. The stadium that bears the Lucas Oil name is a state of the art, multi-event facility that hosts a variety of entertainment and sporting events from NFL, NCAA basketball to music concerts and seats up to 75,000 people.
“We are extremely happy to sponsor the National Walleye Tour,” said Jamie Devney, marketing director for Team Lucas. “Our involvement with the NWT is an ideal platform to promote the Lucas brand in a key market. We look forward to working with the National Walleye Tour and their anglers.”
The all-new National Walleye Tour begins April 26, 2013, and includes a total of three qualifying events, plus a year-end championship. The NWT website is currently accepting registrations for all events online. The website offers numerous details on the circuit; including official rules, tournament structure, payout and incentives.
Each NWT event features over 100% payback. A fully rigged Ranger Boat, plus cash, is guaranteed for first place at each event – a total value of $57,000. Anglers that fish all three regular season events, in addition to the top points leaders, will qualify for the three day, entry-fee Championship.
The new circuit also includes unprecedented television and media coverage, allowing a national audience to watch the action unfold from each event throughout the season. Airing on multiple networks, the National Walleye Tour will be seen on The Texas Channel, World Fishing Network, Pursuit Channel, as well as the new NBC Sports Network.
