First Ever Public Airsoft 3-Gun Event Sponsored by NRA Announced in Georgia

Event Announced by SAS Black Ops and Command Airsoft Technologies

After a “test run” at the NRA headquarters in Virginia the NRA has chosen SAS Black Ops Airsoft Arena in Marietta, GA to host the inaugural public event in the U.S.. Airsoft weapons are now so realistic and consistent that airsoft has become a trusted training medium for real steel and so it only seems right that the NRA should develop an airsoft based competition platform.

This first event is scheduled for Saturday April 13th 2013 and two separate sessions will be held. The first session will be between 2pm and 5pm and the second session from 6pm to 9pm. Shooters can arrive any time during the first two hours of either session. Walk-ins will be accepted if there is room but pre-registration is advised.

The cost to enter the event is $10 per session at the door or $5 for pre-registrations, NRA members and SAS members. Prizes will be awarded in both the junior (under 18) and adult divisions in each session.

The early afternoon session will take place during regular opening hours at SAS Black Ops (10am -6pm) and so skirmishes will be taking place in the 13,000 sq ft indoor arena. Come make a day of it and join in the fun of challenging CQB game play under the light and sound effect system- it’s like being IN a video game except the other guys can shoot back. Admission is just $20 for the whole day and rental equipment is available if you need it.

SPECIAL: Purchase an all day play pass for Saturday April 13th and enter the 2p-5p session of the 3-gun for FREE!!

The 3-gun will be a 3 stage event with each stage in a different room and your score will be added over the 3 stages. Scores are a combination of time and accuracy. Each stage will consist of a shooting challenge with an AR, a pistol and a shotgun. All weapons have been supplied by Command Airsoft Technologies. Use of all the competition weapons and all ammunition is included in the registration fee.

As a special bonus for the evening session, a fourth “kill house” stage will be set up in the arena. This fourth stage will feature a fixed route through several buildings where various targets, both friendly and otherwise, will be encountered and must be dealt with appropriately. This fourth stage is for fun only and will not be included in the final score.

We look forward to welcoming both airsoft and “real steel” enthusiasts to this wonderful event, which may be the first but will definitely not be the last!!
