Gallatin River Lodge Unveils Expansion Project at Simms Ice Out Event

A multi-year expansion project at the Gallatin River Lodge will be completed just in time to serve as the host of the fishing portion of Simms 2012 Ice Out Event, April 19-21, 2012.

According to Gallatin River Lodge owner Steve Gamble, “we’ve been planning our expansion project for a number of years, and it’s wonderful to see our dream come to fruition.  The Trout Cabin adds an additional 2500 square feet of lodging.  It’s a free-standing building just southwest of the main Lodge that offers four deluxe bedrooms on the first floor as well as a luxurious two-bedroom suite upstairs.  “I designed the suite to include a living room with dining and meeting room space.”

“We have been very fortunate to grow over the past two years,” Gamble said.  “We’re prepared for the expansion and we’ve started interviewing for additional staff and fishing guides.  More guests leads to even more creativity!  Chef Craig Seguin will have additional opportunities to showcase his creative-American cuisine.  Chef Craig has been serving local meats and produce for the past few years, and will expand the menu offerings. To compliment his meals we’ve increased the size of our wine list with additional select choices from our favourite Oregon, Washington and California wineries.

Simms will hold day-time activities and events at a combination of venues.  There will be tours at the Simms factory and events with fisherman and coach, Bobby Knight.  Dave Whitlock, John Simms, and John Geirach will be part of the Ask a Legend panel discussion, and there will be a number of guide-related events and programs.  The Gallatin River Lodge will host a streamside entomology program with Robert Younghanz and casting instruction with Bruce Richards, formerly of Scientific Anglers.  “It’s a wide range of activities,” said Gamble “and we’re really excited to be a part of the Simms Ice Out festivities.”

Founded in 1999, the Gallatin River Lodge is sited on a ranch just west of Bozeman, Montana. The lodge is owned bySteve Gamble and offers walk and wade access to miles of the Gallatin River.  In addition, guide services include drift boat fishing on the nearby Yellowstone, Madison, Jefferson and Missouri Rivers. Spring Creek anglers can also enjoy many famous streams nearby. The Gallatin River Lodge also coordinates additional outdoor activities which include horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, white-water rafting, seasonal wing shooting and big game hunting, clay target shooting, and other sporting activities through their wide array of affiliates.
