Video: “Duck Dynasty” Cast “Starstruck” at ACM Awards

It is fair to assume that the hit show Duck Dynasty gathered a few celebrity fans, but the cast was surprised at just how big of a smash they were with the crowd at this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards.
“I’m freaking out,” Jeb Robertson told CNN as he, Willie, Jessica, and Korie reminisced on their fame and impact on television.
Duck Dynasty became a breakout hit in its first season as it followed the lives of the Robertson family and their duck call empire Duck Commander. Family patriarch Phil Robertson started the company in 1972, and notably started ahead of Terry Bradshaw before turning down a NFL draft. The family’s transition to television 40 years later propelled them to the front of the public eye, and the attention of a few other celebrities as well.
“Faith Hill was awesome,” said a flabbergasted Korie. “She gave us the best hug, we’re like ‘you’re Faith Hill.’”
The subject of Morrissey also came up. The singer had previously canceled an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel because he did not want to be shown alongside the cast of Duck Dynasty, who was also scheduled to appear. Morrissey is well known for his displays of activism and opposition to hunting. When questioned on what they thought about Morrissey or PETA, Korie responded simply, “Not everybody’s going to eat meat like we do.”
