Team Easton Dominates Arizona Cup

Team Easton takes 11 of 12 individual medals and all Team Golds, in the 2013 Arizona Cup, a World Ranking tournament.

Team Easton athletes, Jesse Broadwater and Reo Wilde went to a one-arrow shoot off to decide the Men’s Compound Division, with Jesse shooting a 10-X to take the victory. Easton’s Jamie Van Natta won the Woman’s Compound Division over Gabriela Trevino with a string of 10s.

The Recurve Division had several 2012 Olympic medalists battling for podium spots. Team Easton’s Brady Ellison showed tremendous grit shooting all weekend with a recently broken hand. Brady finished with a sliver medal to Mexico’s Luis Alvarez and Jeremiah Cusick grabbing the bronze. Mariana Avitia topped Khatuna Lorig, both shooting X10 arrows, in a rematch that echoed the London 2012 Olympic competition.

In the first major outdoor archery tournament of the 2013 season, the Arizona heat and wind definitely played a part, especially considering the shooting distances of 50m for compound and 70m for recurve. “The changing winds here in Arizona were a challenge for us all out here, but the Easton X10 Pro-Tour design cut right through it. My new arrows give me all the confidence I need to step up to the line and preform in any conditions,” said compound champion, Jesse Broadwater.

“Easton is proud of all of our shooters this weekend in Arizona. They showed teamwork, perseverance and excellence, all qualities we strive for each day here at Easton Technical Products”, said President, Shane Michelli.
