4 MGM Targets Shooters Finish Top 10 in Texas

MGM Targets team shooters wrapped up the 2013 Texas Multi-gun match in Liberty Hill, Texas with an impressive showing – Four Team MGM shooters landed top ten finishes in early season competition.

Accomplished 3-gunner and USSA instructor, Erik Lund won the TXMG Heavy Optics class. From a field of 27 shooters, Erik came in with a top score of 1105 points and a 12 point lead over the second place finisher.

One of Team MGM’s newest members, Chris Andersen, claimed 2nd spot in Scope Tactical with 1066.4 points, just 3 points off the top spot. MGM’s own Travis Gibson helped MGM claim two of the top four slots with a solid run in 4th position in Scope Tactical class with 1043.9 points. Just under 40 points separated the top five positions for a very close match. Among the very few lady 3-gunners competing in a male majority field and sport, Dianna Lierdorff finished with an impressive 9th place in her Open class run with 831 points and besting 31 other competitors.

Three days, April 19 – 21, found approximately 300 shooters from all over the country at the Best of the West Shooting Range for 12 demanding stages of 3 gun competition.  Shooters met Thursday afternoon for a mandatory meeting and shooters registration. Friday’s day 1 brought the start of the 2013 TXMG MultiGun, an exciting, rewarding and fun match at the Best of the West Shooting Sports Range.

Match director Sheldon Carruth ensured the course would test shooters’ skill and strategies. The TXMG match celebrates the sacrifices of all veterans, especially those serving in VietNam, as well as the diversity and dedication of those involved in the shooting sport of multigun.
