Don’t Forget the Classics—Kurt Beckstrom
The number of new lures introduced each year is astounding, and it’s a testament to the amount of time, money and effort designers put into developing baits that help anglers catch more and bigger fish.
However, there’s a long list of proven baits that have stood the test of time—lures that caught a lot of fish in the past, and still can today. Here are a couple of my favorites that I think deserve a place in your tackle box, too: Rapala’s Original Floating Minnow and Hula Popper by Arbogast.

Downsize For Bigger Bass—Gary Klein
The general trend in modern bass fishing seems to be moving towards bigger baits. There is no denying that big offerings catch big bass, however, smaller presentations often trigger bites from fish that are just not willing to chase down and eat something that is 25 percent of their size, or bigger!
