California DFW Opens Up Fall Deer Hunts in Merced and Siskiyou Counties
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is offering four permit-only deer hunts in Merced and Siskiyou counties through the Shared Habitat Alliance for Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) program.
Located along the Merced River near Snelling, the Little Hills Ranch in Merced County encompasses 85 acres of riparian woodland and will be available for four D-6 tag holders. Hunters will also be allowed to fill a wild pig tag in addition to their deer tag during each deer hunt.
In Siskiyou County, the 640 acre Willow Foothill property located NE of Yreka, will allow one A-1 deer tag holder and three C-1 deer tag holder hunts.
Both opportunities are being offered between Aug. 17 and Oct. 20, 2013.
Hunters with a valid California hunting license may apply through the Automated License Data System (ALDS). A $10.25 non-refundable application fee will be charged for each hunt choice. In addition to a hunting license, you must have a valid deer (and/or pig tag) tag for the appropriate deer zone. To apply for these hunts, go to:http://www.dfg.ca.gov/licensing/ols/.
Successful applicants will be allowed to bring a hunting partner (provided they hold the appropriate tag(s) or a non-hunting partner.
