Video: Goliath Grouper Wrestles Meal from Spearfisher

In the video below, one unlucky spear fisherman finds himself the target of a hungry goliath grouper, and neither seem keen to share. Goliath groupers can grow up to monstrous sizes and specimens up to 680 pounds have been recorded by anglers. Its large size and tasty flesh had previously made it a highly-sought fish for fishermen, but the species has since been banned from harvesting due to rapid population decline.

This particular fish however, isn’t about to die from starvation. Goliath groupers are known for their boldness in approaching humans, and this diver did not expect to be mugged at fin-point.
