NRA Outdoors Will Award NM Mule Deer Hunt, Prize Package
OutdoorHub 07.23.13
NRA Outdoors coordinates booking with hundreds of the finest hunting and fishing outfitters around the world. Ensuring that each and every one of these outfitters adheres to the highest standards of excellence outlined in the NRA Outdoors’ Approved Destinations Program requires a significant amount of yearly research, as well as regular, personal inspections by the NRA Outdoors staff.
It’s a tough job, but somebody has to do it. And it might as well be you.
This fall, one lucky hunter will get to go behind the scenes with NRA Outdoors and be part of a personal inspection of one of the company’s top Western big-game outfitters. As part of the all-expenses-paid prize package, the winner will fly to Albuquerque, N.M., to hunt mule deer during New Mexico’s muzzleloader season alongside NRA Outdoors President Greg Ray.
“We want to get NRA members involved in the process so they can see what all goes into ensuring that whenever they utilize this free member service to book a hunting or fishing trip through NRA Outdoors they are guaranteed to be booking with one of the finest hunting and fishing outfitters in the world,” Ray said. “We think the best way to do that is to take them on a follow-up inspection of one of our fine outfitters and personally experience some time in hunting camp there.”
For a chance to win, entrants must “Like” the NRA Outdoors’ Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/NRAOutdoors) as well as click on the “Contest” tab and enter their name and email address. Once successfully entered into the contest, entrants will receive an email confirming their entry. The contest begins at 9 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, July 24 and will close at 5 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, August 21. The winner will be chosen at random from the entries and notified via email. Those who already “Like” NRA Outdoors on Facebook need only click on the “Contest” tab and submit their contact information.
The all-expenses-paid prize package includes roundtrip airfare, fully outfitted five-day hunt plus all necessary licenses and tags with the hunt occurring September 24-30. In addition to the hunt and going behind the scenes of NRA Outdoors’ inspection process, the winner will also receive a new Thompson/Center Arms™ IMPACT™ muzzleloader and .50-caliber accessories kit. Engineered with a sleek and compact design, the IMPACT offers all of the features hunters demand in a muzzleloader while delivering the accuracy and reliability that is synonymous with the Thompson/Center name.
Winner of the New Mexico mule deer hunt will also receive the 28-Day Challenge Pack from Wilderness Athlete (wildernessathlete.com), a comprehensive system of nutritional products designed to help outdoor athletes safely achieve health and fitness goals that enhance their lifestyle and increase their chances at hunting success.
“Western big-game hunts can be physically demanding so I’ve been using the Wilderness Athlete products for a month now and am losing some extra pounds I put on at the cookouts and parties this summer,” Ray said. “Preparing your body to perform in the conditions like those experienced on a hunt are just as important as having extremely accurate muzzleloader like the IMPACT. It’s going to be a busy fall and we’re going to need some more help checking out some giant Canadian whitetails later this year so keep an eye on the NRA Outdoors Facebook page for details.”
