Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission Bird Hunting Regulations Meeting in Trinidad August 8

The Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission will discuss emergency hunting regulations for hunting areas affected by the West Fork Fire complex in southwest Colorado and consider regulations for the take of prairie rattlesnakes when the Commission travels to Trinidad for its August meeting on Thursday, Aug. 8. In addition, the Commission will consider waterfowl and migratory bird hunting rules for upcoming seasons, in line with annual rule changes provided by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Colorado Parks and Wildlife staff will also provide commissioners with updates on issues related to agency finances, endangered species management and two new online outreach efforts.
The meeting will be held in the Sullivan Student Center at Trinidad State Junior College, located at 600 Prospect Street. The Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission sets regulations and policies for Colorado’s state parks and wildlife programs. The Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission meets monthly and travels to communities around the state to facilitate public participation in its processes. The commission is scheduled to travel to Montrose, Lamar and Pueblo later this year.
