Stephanie Shipman, the executive producer and owner of Ammo and Attitude and The Right Stuff television shows, has announced the Pursuit Channel as the new home for those features beginning November 2013. Shipman, CEO of the Shipman Agency, has produced 17 national television shows over a 31-year career.
Ammo and Attitude, which is likened to a meld of Survivor meets Apprentice at the gun range, is an outdoor television original, a six-person, women-only competition hosted by world champion handgun expert Randi Rodgers. The 2012 edition of Ammo and Attitude, www.ammoandattitude.com, swept up a People’s Choice award and a Telly, honors that have proved very elusive to producers of outdoor programming. Shipman describes the endeavor as one of her most demanding and important contributions to outdoor television.
“Over a three-year period, Ammo and Attitude became a dominant award-winner for NBC Sports, eventually topping more than 2 million viewers per month,” said Shipman. “It takes a highly skilled army to produce shows with top-tier production values. We invest in those resources and work at it with an all-in sense of purpose.”
A second show by The Shipman Agency, www.shipmanagency.com, The Right Stuff, www.rightstufftv.com, will immediately follow Ammo and Attitude, creating a Saturday afternoon power hour of reality-based outdoor fun on the Pursuit Channel beginning in November. The Right Stuff is a men’s outdoor skills competition hosted by country music artist Mark Wills. Contestants of both shows compete in disciplines ranging from shooting sports to hunting technique, from wilderness survival to trekking. At the completion of each skills segment contestants are selected for elimination based on their outdoor capabilities under hyper-pressurized conditions. Significant grand-prize packages await the ultimate finalists.
“These kinds of well-planned, professionally executed competitions produced for television are proven winners with big-audiences,” said Rusty Faulk, Founder and CEO of Pursuit Channel. “And by showcasing everyday contestants, features like Ammo and Attitude set themselves apart as critical-value recruiting tools for the outdoor lifestyle. Novices and veterans alike have found Ammo and Attitude and The Right Stuff infectious, lean-in experiences and now we have them, some of the best in category, coming soon to Pursuit Channel.”
Ammo and Attitude can be seen Saturdays at 4:00 p.m. EST beginning November 4, 2013, followed immediately by The Right Stuff. Filming in Utah for the fifth season of Ammo and Attitude and the second season of The Right Stuff is scheduled to begin April 2013.
“These franchises have found a great new home at Pursuit Channel, which to my mind best represents a stable and fairly priced future for outdoor television,” concluded Shipman. “There is a large, audited audience of enthusiasts at Pursuit. What can ever be more exciting to producers and their partners than that?!”
