Team Safariland members Jessie Duff and BJ Norris proved once again why they are among the fastest shooters in the world as the pair captured multiple titles at the 2013 Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championships in Frostproof, Florida.
Relying on Safariland’s Model 014 Competition Holster and the ELS rig, Duff posted a final, blistering time of 92.72 seconds to take her fifth straight Women’s Open title, and her fifth straight Women’s Limited title.
Norris, who also shoots with the Model 014 and ELS rig, not only won the Limited title with a record setting time of 84.47, but shot his way to an astounding second place in the Open division while still shooting his Limited pistol.
Both Duff and Norris took home the coveted Steel Master titles based on their combined overall performance in the Open, Limited and Rimfire divisions.
“Drawing the gun is such a critical component of the Steel Challenge. If you can save a tenth of a second on every draw, you’ll save more than three seconds total for the match,” said BJ Norris, Team Safariland member. “My 014 holster holds the gun in exactly the right position for me to get a consistent, winning grip on the gun when the buzzer sounds.”
Both team members used the Safariland Model 014 Competition Holster and the ELS (Equipment Locking System) Rig. The versatile ELS Rig allowed them to quickly and easily switch their gear from stage to stage. The 014 holster, with its customized draw, put the handgun in the right location every time.
