Nikon has announced the addition of three new models to the MONARCH 5 binocular line, with each featuring 56 mm objective lenses. Available in 8×56, 16×56 and 20×56 versions and combined with Nikon’s Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass, these new MONARCH 5 56mm binoculars take vision to a whole new level of clarity and realism.
Like all MONARCH 5 models, these new binoculars are built with Nikon’s legendary ED glass lenses, which correct chromatic aberrations across the furthest limits of the visible light range and effectively compensate for color fringing. Even when observing objects that would make chromatic aberration the most apparent – such as adjacent whites and blacks – the images will maintain superior contrast and resolution thanks to the ED glass.
With 56mm objective lenses, the new MONARCH 5 binoculars provide sharp, high-contrast views by allowing greater amounts of light to enter the optical system. The 8×56 version boasts an incredible 7mm exit pupil for extreme low-light performance.
MONARCH 5 binoculars are made with Eco-glass optics that are free of lead and arsenic, making them environmentally friendly. They are made with dielectric high-reflective multilayer prism coatings to ensure superior light transmittance uniformity across the visible light range for brighter images and more natural colors. They also have phase-correction coated roof prisms to increase resolution.
Nikon has manufactured the MONARCH 5 binoculars, as well as many other of its optics, with a high-eyepoint design. This provides a clear field of view for everyone, even when the user is wearing eyeglasses, with sufficient space between the user’s brow and the binocular’s eyecups. Multi-click turn-and-slide rubber eyecups make it easy to find the correct eye positioning to see the full field of view.
Nikon has included a tripod adaptor with the 16×56 and 20×56 models to give users a steady view when they need it most. The lightweight body of the MONARCH 5 binocular is made of fiberglass-reinforced polycarbonate resin and is covered in rubber armoring for added durability and ergonomics. It also includes flip-down rubber objective lens caps, a soft-to-the-touch neck strap is completely waterproof/fogproof. The suggested retail price of the MONARCH 5 is $749.95 for the 8×56, $799.95 for the 16×56 and $899.95 for the 20×56.
