Apache Corporation, an oil and gas exploration and production company, has signed on as a bronze sponsor for the Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt.
The hunt will take place at The Ranch at Ucross outside of Buffalo, Wyoming, and will be hosted by the Wyoming Women’s Foundation.
The Apache Corporation is well-known for its conservation efforts and support of the historic Ucross Ranch, a working cattle ranch and artist retreat, through its philanthropic arm the Apache Foundation. This particular ranch is located nearby where the hunt is taking place.
The Apache Foundation has been managing the stewardship of natural resources in Ucross since the late 1990s and its long-term commitment to conservation and active management of the rangeland resources have led to overall improvements to the land, as well as numerous awards and recognition.
“We are very thankful for the Apache Corporation’s support of this hunt and share its commitment to conservation and being good stewards of the land,” said Richelle Keinath, executive director of the Wyoming Women’s Foundation.
“Through this hunt, we hope to introduce new hunters to the role that hunting plays in wildlife conservation efforts, as well as promoting hunting as a way for women to be more self-sufficient and feed their families.”
The Inaugural Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt
The Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt was developed by the Wyoming Women’s Foundation to promote women’s hunting and recreational activities on a national level and support the organization’s mission of economic self-sufficiency for women across Wyoming. The hunt, which is the first event of its kind for women in the U.S., will take place at the Ranch at Ucross in northeast Wyoming. It will include female hunters of all experience levels and will emphasize safe and responsible hunting. To learn more about the Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt, visit www.wyomingwomensantelopehunt.org.
