Steiner Unveils GS3 Riflescopes with 5X Zoom Range
Patrick Durkin 01.23.14
Steiner’s new GS3 “game-sensing” scope uses CAT (Color Adjusted Transmission) lens coatings to amplify contrast in the human eye’s peak vision-sensitivity range. This extra contrast helps separate game from leafy or shadowy backgrounds, enabling clean, accurate shots.
In addition, the GS3’s 5X zoom range lets hunters from Eastern whitetail country to Western big-game ranges pair the scope with their favorite centerfire, rimfire or muzzleloading rifle. The GS3 is available in four models: 2-10x42mm, 3-15x50mm, 3-15x56mm and 4-20x-50mm. They’re ruggedly built to be waterproof, shockproof and durable for generations.
Steiner equips all GS3 scopes with its exclusive Plex S2 etched reticle, which provides a simple, uncluttered method for determining trajectory and wind compensation. The reticle has a series of .25 MOA dots to help compensate for crosswinds.
The GS3 4-20×50 model features side-parallax adjustments, and it’s available with two reticles. The Plex S7 reticle makes trajectory compensation simple with hash marks calibrated to provide dead-on aiming from 100 to 500 yards for common hunting cartridges. The Plex S7 reticle uses lines that indicate windage drift for 5 or 10 mph.
