The Pope & Young Club, a non-profit North American conservation and bowhunting organization, announces the first Pope & Young Club Conservation/Outdoor Film Festival award winner.
The award for best sheep film with a bow was awarded to Lincoln Tapp of Young Wild TV during the 2014 Wild Sheep Foundation’s annual banquet. Lincoln, 12 when he harvested his Yukon Stone Sheep, also took home “Best Of Festival” for his film.
“It was a great honor receiving the Conservation Series Pope and Young Club award. Above all we appreciate P&Y’s continued efforts in preserving, promoting and defending a way of life that brings great joy to so many,” says Lincoln Tapp.
“This film is more than a great hunting story… it’s about a father and son sharing a magical moment in the outdoors. This film captured the emotion, passion and up’s & down’s of hunting that is shared by all bowhunters,” says Gary Wilson, founder of the Outdoor Film Festival.
As part of the Outdoor Film Festival, the Conservation Series focuses on films depicting ethical, fair chase Bowhunting. The Pope & Young Club picks the highest quality film that best depicts the conservation and ethics the Pope & Young Club has championed for decades.
“The Pope and Young Club is excited to be involved with the Conservation Series of the Outdoor Film Festival. We view this as a tremendous opportunity to upgrade the quality of hunting films by emphasizing and highlighting conservation and ethical, fair chase bowhunting,” says Mike Schlegel, Conservation Chairman for the Pope Young Club.
The Pope & Young Club will be awarding their Conservation Series award at Outdoor Film Festivals held throughout 2014 including festivals scheduled at the annual banquets for the Mule Deer Foundation, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Whitetails Unlimited.
