Industry Days at the Range Proves 2014 to Be Another Gold Medal Event

In its ninth year, the 2014 SHOT Show Media Day at the Range was attended by over 1,100 members of the media. With 142 manufacturers exhibiting, Media Day is the largest hands-on media event in the hunting and shooting industry giving outdoor media the opportunity to shoot and test new products for 2014.  This year’s exhibiting companies featured firearms, tactical clothing, knife throwing, archery and more.

New to this year’s program was SHOT Show Buyer Day at the Range, attended by 456 distributors, dealers, and retailers who were given the opportunity to test and learn about new products during the first four hours of the opening day of SHOT Show.

According to Laura Evans, Marketing Coordinator at Crosman Corporation, “One of the highpoints of SHOT Show for Crosman is always Media Day at the Range.  This year’s event was exceptional.  Thanks to the Industry Days at the Range team and their attention to our every need, everything went off without a hitch – they even arranged for two beautiful days.  The pre-event promotion was very effective in driving consistent traffic to our firing line throughout the day, the excitement level amongst visitors was high, and even lunch was great.  It was our best Media Day to date, and by far, the most useful way of introducing our newest break barrel technology, the Nitro Piston 2, to the outdoor media and buyers!”

“Your Media Day event stands alone as one of the best and most productive for media and manufacturers, alike” said Bob Rogers, Contributing Editor of Shooting Sports Retailer.

Having so many of our current and new media contacts at the same place and time makes our job easy. Not only showing them our new products, but being able to get their hands on it and use it right then and there is invaluable,” stated Drew Herbst, Merchandise Coordinator at Springfield Armory.

“I’ve been attending media shooting events at SHOT for nearly 20 years, and Media Day at the Range 2014 was the best,” said Ron Spomer, President of Ron Spomer Outdoors. “It was well organized, nicely laid out and uncrowded. Our 4-man crew of reporters and videographers were able to meet with manufacturer reps, sample their products, interview them and collect useable video of products in action. Even the diversity of food wagons spread conveniently throughout the grounds saved us time.”

In conjunction with NSSF, Industry Days at the Range continues to put safety at the forefront of the event. The third annual Action Target Industry Days Safety Award was presented to ADCOR for demonstrating the highest standards of safety during the event. Exhibitors were judged on their firearms safety practices by a panel of safety auditors from DOA Tactical.

Show management would like to express a special thank you to Industry Day’s presenting sponsor, NSSF, as well to its supporting sponsors and partners. “Their support helps make this event the success that it is,” stated Cathy Williams, president of CMG Marketing and Events. “We welcome all of our 2014 sponsors and exhibitors, as well as prospective new participants, to be part of the 2015 event.”

Next year’s SHOT Show Industry Days at the Range will be held on January 19 & 20, 2015. Registration for existing exhibitors will open March 15 and to new exhibitors on April 15. Visit www.SHOTShowRangeDay.com for details concerning exhibitor registration in the coming weeks.

Exhibiting opportunities are open to all members in the hunting and shooting industry; manufacturers, conservation groups and shooting organizations are welcomed on a first-come, first-served basis.
