The Association of Collegiate Anglers has announced that Costa Sunglasses will continue its support of the 2014 Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series for the 9th year in a row. As a series sponsor, Costa Sunglasses will continue to enjoy extensive promotion with collegiate anglers throughout the nation at numerous events as well as on television.
“We believe in supporting the next generation of bass anglers through programs like the Association of College Anglers (ACA) and others,” said Al Perkinson, Vice President of marketing for Costa Sunglasses. “These anglers are the future of our sport, and with events like the Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series showcasing their skills and talent, we hope these anglers inspire more people to get out on the water and see what’s out there.”
Collegiate anglers have come to know Costa through the ACA Discounts and Incentives Program, including the Costa Big Bass bonuses, which will continue in 2014. In addition, Costa will be hosting a BBQ at the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship, as well as offering a special collegiate purchase opportunity to participants of that event. Costa College Night takes place Thursday, May 22nd in Florence, Alabama. Activities will take place at McFarland Park, following the Day One weigh-in.
“Costa has been an anchor in our collegiate program since the earliest events and thus they have developed a loyal following of collegiate anglers. Their continued support of the Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series illustrates their commitment to the young men and women who make up the ACA,” said Wade Middleton, program director of the ACA. “The Costa College Night BBQ was a big hit last year with the anglers and we look forward to doing it again in 2014. Activities such as this play a big part in making our championship like no other.”
Anglers wearing Costa sunglasses throughout any of the three Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series events are eligible for a Costa Big Bass Bonus of $500, which will be paid out to the highest finishing eligible team at each competition. In addition, if at least one team member also wears a Costa hat or displays a Costa logo on their jersey, they can pick up an additional $500 bonus for winning the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship or the Collegiate Bass Fishing Open. Complete details can be found in the ACA Discounts and Incentives Program.
