Zero Motorcycles/Scot Harden Recipient of 2014 AMA Award

Zero Motorcycles, the global leader in the electric motorcycle industry, was recently awarded one of the American Motorcyclist Association’s(AMA) 2014Special Recognition Awards. Zero Motorcycles and Scot Harden, Vice President of Marketing and AMA Hall of Famer, have received the AMA Bessie Stringfield Award which is given in honor of AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer Bessie Stringfield and recognizes efforts to introduce motorcycling to new or underserved markets. Zero Motorcycles and Scot Harden were specifically recognized for their continued efforts in the field of electric motorcycles and the positive impact and message they have sent to both the mainstream media and potential new consumers entering the market. Zero Motorcycles recently launched their 2014 model line-up with the longest range production electric motorcycle, the Zero S.

The 2014 AMA Awards recipients were chosen by the AMA Board of Directors based on their contributions to the motorcycle industry and promotion of the motorcycle lifestyle. Zero Motorcycles was recognized for their work towards the continued advancement and innovation in the electric motorcycle sector and ever growing product line-up. The new 2014 model line represents an evolution of an already cutting edge product line with several new features of the 2014 model line largely revolving around refining general motorcycle componentry and design.
Propelled by the most advanced technology in the industry, the 2014 Zero Motorcycles line offers several fully electric motorcycles including the Zero S, Zero DS, Zero FX, and new for 2014, the Zero SR. The new line features newly designed bodywork elements, neatly integrated componentry, improved braking and better handling on account of new larger diameter forks and triple clamps. Also new for 2014 is a new Z-Force Power Tank accessory that allows riders to travel up to 171 miles in the city or 88 miles on the highway. Zero’s entire model line offers a liberating ownership experience with its maintenance-free powertrain, penny per mile ‘fuel’ cost and powerful acceleration.
