Sportsman Channel and NRA Partner to Bring NRA Life of Duty Franchise to Network – Debuts Thursday, April 3

Sportsman Secures Exclusive Rights to Series Celebrating Heroes of Military and Homeland

Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor TV for American sportsmen and women, is proud to bring NRA Life of Duty to a national TV audience exclusively and for the first time. NRA Life of Duty, presented by Brownells, premieres Thursday, April 3 at 9 p.m. ET/PT – immediately following the premiere of the original series, Amazing America with Sarah Palin, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The series will include regular interviews with Lt. Col. Oliver North, award winning military historian, New York Times best selling author, and chairman of the NRA military and veterans affairs committee.

“The NRA Life of Duty series is an incredible franchise that has been built by the NRA and their tireless efforts to honor our country’s heroes,” said Marc Fein, Executive Vice President Programming and Production for Sportsman Channel. “We are privileged to be able to showcase these very moving stories and have this series as part of Sportsman Channel’s Salute to Service initiative.”

NRA Life of Duty is designed to both assist and honor America’s military and law enforcement personnel. The program specifically highlights those who put their lives on the line every day to protect American freedom.

“This is one of the most important programs the NRA has ever launched,” said NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre. “It broadens our audience to a new generation of gun owners and young heroes who love and serve their country and its cause of freedom. And NRA Life of Duty offers every one of us the opportunity to pay tribute and honor these heroes in a tangible way. These brave men and women wake up every morning, strap on a gun and go to work to protect us. They are our true heroes and the NRA of tomorrow.”

The first episode begins with a Patriot Profile documentary sponsored by Smith & Wesson on the life of Navy Seal Chief (SOC) Adam Brown, who died during a battle in Komar Province, Afghanistan on March 17, 2010. Brown, who is survived by his wife and two children, was a 12-year veteran of the United States Navy including multiple tours of duty overseas. Many might recognize Brown from the book “Fearless.”

The Sportsman Channel Salute to Service, presented by Bravo Company, initiative is a multimedia effort partnering with Gary Sinise and the Gary Sinise Foundation to celebrate American servicemen and women, and raise awareness of issues and opportunities facing veterans. Launched in 2013, the program spans everything from series programming and documentaries to social media and editorial. Salute to Service will take center stage on Sportsman Channel on every major holiday that commemorates the U.S. military’s sacrifices and successes, including Memorial Day, July 4th and Veterans Day.

NRA Life of Duty joins another one-of-a-kind NRA program on Sportsman Channel with NRANEWS Cam & Co. hosted by Cam Edwards. NRANEWS Cam & Co. is the one and only news-talk series on television that can authoritatively address the issues that are vital to more than 80 million American sportsmen and sportswomen.

NRA Life of Duty consists of three main parts: a special class of sponsored NRA membership for qualified military, law enforcement and first responder personnel, an online network tailored specifically for NRA Life of Duty members, and a one-of-a-kind digital magazine, NRA American Warrior. Individuals and corporations can sponsor one-year NRA Life of Duty memberships for military, law enforcement and first responder personnel by visiting: https://donate.nralifeofduty.tv.
