“The NRA Show is always fully booked and has had a respectable waiting list for years,” noted CEO and founder Doug Turnbull. “When we were notified that we had this opportunity, we were thrilled to be invited to participate in what has become the eminent consumer show in our industry.”
The schedule for Spring, 2014 is:

Southern Side by Side Show, Sanford, NC – April 24-27
The Forks of the Delaware, Allentown, PA – May 10-11
The Ohio Gun Collectors Association, Wilmington, OH – May 17-18
Be sure to stop and see Bob.
Attendees at these shows can expect the see what has made Turnbull Manufacturing the favored restoration resource for serious gun collectors. In restoration work, Turnbull relies on seasoned and experienced gunsmiths who use many of the original manufacturing techniques in restoring vintage firearms. Attendees can also see the recreations of classic firearms that have proven to be extremely popular.
“When we noticed that the NRA Show dates matched those of the Southern Side by Side, we made the decision to attend both shows that weekend to make sure gun collectors around the nation have the opportunity to look at our work,” commented Turnbull when asked about the schedule. “It comes down to the pride everyone here at Turnbull Manufacturing has in our work and our desire to share that with the American firearms community.”
Turnbull newly manufactured firearms are based on classic gun designs such as the Heritage Model 1911 pistol based on the WWI design – available in .45 ACP – that has long been the iconic look for the 1911 overall. Using a carefully crafted combination of modern materials and the same classic methods used in the original production.
As an example, the slide is blued using the traditional charcoal bluing method that produces the deep, lustrous blue that 1911 shooters are familiar with as well as a stronger frame and more resilient finish. The frame features Turnbull’s signature color case hardening finish which is the traditional bone charcoal method.
Turnbull is known globally for the ability to take even the most damaged collectible gun and return it to its original look, feel and function. They also have new production firearms that incorporate the same quality look and feel as the collectibles they are famous for restoring.
Entering their 4th decade, Turnbull Manufacturing has maintained a strong commitment to building firearms the way they used to be built. Founder and CEO Doug Turnbull is best known for his mottled color case hardening which stands out as the most striking and unique.
