Team Lemmon/Rood Wins IFA Redfish Tour Event at Titusville, FL

Nathaniel Lemmon, of Edgewater, Fla., and Patrick Rood, of Deltona, Fla., weighed a two-redfish limit that totaled 14.75 pounds to win the first regular-season event for the Florida East Division of the IFA Redfish Tour presented by Cabela’s at Titusville, Fla., on April 26.
Seven-year IFA veterans and former Divisional Team of the Year, Lemmon and Rood targeted schools of fish along creeks in the Mosquito Lagoon area. The team took home a fully rigged Ranger boat powered by a Yamaha outboard, valued at over $25,000.
“The fishing was great,” said Lemmon. “It’s a great time of the year to fish because there are lots of fish and bait activity.”

Brothers Matt Preston and Patrick Preston, both of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., weighed 14.29 pounds to take home the $3,384 second-place prize and added $2,730 in Anglers Advantage cash.
The anglers ran 20 miles to south end of the Mosquito Lagoon and fished top-water baits in the morning and jerkbaits in the afternoon.
“The fishing was consistent for the end of the week. We caught all of our fish by sight-casting,” said Matt Preston. “It was a great day of fishing but it’s always a good day when you get to fish with family.”
John Lulay, of Stuart, Fla., and Travis Tanner, of Christmas, Fla., brought 14.18 pounds to the scales for the third-place prize of $2,115 and added $1,330 in Anglers Advantage cash. The anglers also made the run to the Mosquito Lagoon, sight-casting and fishing sand holes.
“Conditions were windier than expected but we adjusted and caught plenty of redfish by making long casts downwind,” Lulay said.
