Project Healing Waters and Local Sponsors Host Disabled Veterans in Panama City

Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing will be hosting a three day fishing trip for disabled active military service personnel and veterans together with Bobby McGill, USAF (ret), Counts Real Estate, and Sterling Resorts.

“It is only through the generosity of so many kind friends in the Panama City area that project healing waters is been able to do this for the third year in a row”  – Ellen Killough, CEO, PHWFF

Ten (10) participants from VA and military hospitals in Florida, Tennessee, and Mississippi will be arriving in Panama City, FL on March 12th and gathering at the Laketown Wharf at 5pm for expert casting instruction and a shrimp and crawfish boil to prepare themselves for the following days on the water.  Departing the next day from Sun Harbor at 730am, the wounded veterans will embark upon a world-class fishing experience with local volunteers and 3 boats from Shallow Water Expeditions, sponsored by Randy Horton of Old Florida Outfitters.  The 10 participants will prowl the flats each day, enjoying both the restorative powers of the Florida waters and the game fish present within.   Following each day, veterans and volunteers will share stories of time-in-service and time on-the-water while enjoying the great hospitality of the area thanks to Scampy’s Seafood & Steaks and J. Micheal’s.
