MFC Partners with Well-known Fly Designer

Montana Fly Company(MFC), manufacturer of high-quality flies, fly tying accessories and fishing gear, proudly announces the addition of Hogan Brown to its signature fly designer program. Brown, one of the industry’s most well-known tyers, will bring a myriad of patterns and industry awareness to MFC’s designer roster.

Brown, from Chico, Calif., grew up fishing the North Fork and Lower Yuba Rivers and developed a sincere appreciation and passion for fly fishing at a young age. After having graduated from Chico State in 2005 with a degree in social science and eventually receiving a Masters in Education, Brown continues to guide 75-100 days on the Lower Yuba, Lower Sacramento, Trinity and Feather rivers. He has developed a unique approach to tying bass, carp, steelhead and trout flies with the sierra foothills and the central valley of California as his testing ground. He currently has 40 patterns in commercial production and many have become staples on waters all over the world.

“Hogan’s one of those tyers who just understands what it takes to catch fish,” comments Jake Chutz, Montana Fly Company’s national sales manager. “He’s such a student of his surroundings and his endless hours spent in the field have lent to a knack for developing incredible patterns for many different species of fish and their respective waters.”

Below is a sampling of Hogan’s celebrated patterns currently on the market.

“MFC is a such a solid company and I’m excited to bring my patterns to their catalog,” adds Brown. “Their main focus is quality with their offerings and I feel this is a great fit on both sides. Joining some pretty celebrated industry names on their current design team is quite an honor.”
