Industry to “Plunder” Treasure Coast at 12th Annual Shooting Industry Masters

On a mission to support the First Shots Program and the USA Shooting Team, the 12th annual Shooting Industry Masters, owned and produced by FMG Publications, is slated to take place July 18-19th, 2014 at the Indian River Shooting Range in Sebastian, Fla. This year’s industry-only event is celebrating a record number of teams and sponsors signing on to participate in this year’s Masters on the Treasure Coast — which will have a distinct pirate theme to it.

“We’re extremely gratified by the industry support and sponsorship of this year’s event,” said Randy Molde, vice president of business development. “Pushing a pirate theme to the limits for an unforgettable experience, it’s our goal to secure a sizable bounty of funds and exposure for shooting sports programs from this year’s Treasure Coast adventure. Arrgh!”

Last year’s record-breaking Shooting Industry Masters raised $81,250 for the shooting sports. Since 2008, the Masters has raised a total of $211,000 for NSSF’s First Shots program.

This boom in participation also includes a record number of Platinum-level sponsors whose contributions are working to raise the bar of commitment and surpass last year’s fundraising efforts. Some of these sponsors include Smith & Wesson, Ruger, ATK, Black Hill Ammunition, Taurus, Leupold, Brownells and MGM Targets, among many others.

“The Shooting Industry Masters allows us to spend time with many of our industry friends. We see them at major shows but never have time for a conversation,” said Ruger vice president of operations, Tom Sullivan. “The Masters is designed for low-key socializing, friendly rivalry and occasional applications of serious shooting skills. If you don’t have a good time at the Shooting Industry Masters you weren’t trying.”

Since 2001, the Shooting Industry Masters has raised nearly $300,000 for NSSF programs and the USA Shooting Team, helping to strengthen awareness as well as support for the sport of shooting.
