Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) made contributions last week to the MidwayUSA Foundation, Inc. endowment accounts of 11 Scholastic Pistol Program (SPP) teams. The teams earned the endowment funds while competing in the Maine State Championship and Texas State Championship in May.
The contributions for the month, totaling $22,000, bring SPP’s total contributions to $186,250 to date in 2014. SPP expects to contribute more than $300,000 additional through state, regional, and national championship events in the remainder of 2014.
SPP teams are awarded endowment funds through their participation in sanctioned shoots. SSSF, which administers the Scholastic Pistol Program, contributes the funding to the MidwayUSA Foundation Team Endowment Account Program on behalf of the teams.
The MidwayUSA Foundation helps communities and organizations raise funds to support their high school, college, and other youth shooting teams and activities. This donation brings youth involved in shooting sports, particularly the over 3,000 that have Team Endowment Accounts with the MidwayUSA Foundation, closer to sustainable support. Active teams, like the 11 that will receive this donation, are eligible to draw a grant each year to assist with team expenses, such as ammunition, range fees, travel, uniforms and more.
The teams whose endowment accounts received funds for May are:

Dripping Springs High School $2400.00
Red Dawn Raiders Junior Marksmanship Academy $2200.00
