World Fishing Network, the leading entertainment destination and digital resource for anglers throughout North America, delivers the Season One finale of its signature magazine format show, World Fishing Journal, on Sunday, July 6 starting at 11:30 a.m. ET.
World Fishing Journal brings together a roster of talented sports producers to craft engaging, story-driven features based around the angling community and fishing industry on a monthly basis. Season One, Episode 10 presents three unique segments:
Pure Michigan:
Join host Mark Melnyk as he goes one-on-one with the movers and shakers of Michigan’s fisheries. Mark speaks with the Chief of Fisheries, Jim Dexter; Fisheries Research Biologist, Todd Wills; Elyse Walter, Fisheries Communication Specialist; and Jim Francis, the Lake Erie Basin Coordinator. World Fishing Journal was also granted the opportunity to get the lay of the land from the boss man himself as Mark hits the waters of Michigan with Governor Rick Snyder in search of walleye and bass. Topics of discussion include his love of fishing, his governance and changes to the system, the widely-successful Pure Michigan campaign and the future of Michigan’s great fisheries.
Teardown, Part II:
Last month in Part I, we learned that one of the most important times of the year for fishing lodges is those crucial few days at the end of the season when things are cleaned up, put away and tied down so nothing is damaged by animals or the elements over the long, cold winter. Ed and Sue Crane, proprietors of Crane’s Lochaven Wilderness Lodge, had plenty to do before they departed their island lodge on the French River in Ontario, Canada for the season. Now, see the impact that the coldest Northern Ontario winter in decades had on their lodge and whether or not the Cranes will be able to get everything put back together in time for opening day.
Inside ICAST:
Produced by the American Sportfishing Association (ASA), the sportfishing industry’s trade association, the International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades, better known as ICAST, is the world’s largest sportfishing trade show, annually hosting 10,000 members of the global recreational fishing industry. Hosted by JP DeRose, this segment of World Fishing Journal investigates the importance of this yearly industry show to the manufacturers. What goes on behind-the-scenes when a new product hits the shelf in the fall? Years of research and development all leads up to previewing the product at ICAST, but it doesn’t end there.
World Fishing Journal returns with all-new episodes for Season Two starting Sunday, Sept. 7.
