OutdoorHub Reporters 08.13.14
Since its inception in 1992, Friends of NRA has raised over $230 million for the NRA Foundation to fund education, shooting, hunting, and other related events across America. Created as a grassroots fund-raising program, Friends of NRA works with the NRA’s field staff to plan thousands of local events every year, whether it be educating young shooters, law enforcement training, range development and improvement, and even promoting wildlife conservation.
Notably, the program also provides the funds for the NRA’s Youth Education Summit, which gathers high school juniors and seniors interested in being active in government and legislative affairs for a week-long program every year. Since 1996, Friends of NRA has raised more than $400,000 in scholarship awards for these aspiring leaders.
