Interstate Batteries Camo LED Focus Lite: A Whole Lot of Light for a Little Bit of Cash

The Interstate Batteries story began in the early 1950s when a man named John Searcy started selling car batteries out of the back of a red Studebaker pickup truck in Dallas, Texas. Over the years, they started manufacturing other types of batteries and selling them in their retail stores, Interstate All Battery Centers. By the 1980s, Interstate All Battery Centers had locations in all 50 states and Canada. They have continued to grow, and they are offering some really great products to go alongside their various automobile battery lines. I recently had the opportunity to field test one of their newer products. I was looking for a flashlight small and lightweight enough to carry in my blind bag or backpack with the option to control how much light I wanted or needed in a multitude of situations. I chose their Camo LED Focus Lite with the portable AC charger, and I was really impressed with how it stood up to the rigors of field use.
The Camo LED Focus Lite has three modes: high, medium, and strobe. It also features a focus ring to adjust the beam. The ring was one of the main reasons I chose this flashlight. The other reasons I decided to test this flashlight were its durability, size, weight, and, most importantly, value. I like to have a light that can be used in many different situations. The medium setting is perfect for early mornings when you need a little extra light to set or rig your decoys, and it has just the right amount of light to read a map or book. The high setting is great when you are looking for something on the ground, need a good, strong light to get to your blind with or to just move around camp. I really like the strobe option as it provides an added function when signaling someone either on the water or in an emergency situation. I have used the strobe function on this light several times while checking trot lines and night fishing. It is the perfect solution to signal other friends on the water or on shore.
This little light is tough. It is constructed of lightweight durable metal with a steel clip. It is also weatherproof, so you don’t have to worry about carrying it in the boat, or getting it wet around camp or in the blind. At just under five and a half inches long, it doesn’t take up much space and weighs almost nothing. It is the perfect light to take just about anywhere you go in the outdoors. They also have a convenient strap attached to the end so you don’t have to worry about losing it on the trail or in the water. The Camo LED Focus Lite is equipped with a CREE XPG LED bulb. This type of bulb uses very little energy, but it is still able to provide a substantial amount of light—more than 380 lumens. They come with a rechargeable 3.7V Li-Ion battery and an AC wall charger. You will be shocked at how long this flashlight will hold a charge. The battery is easy to recharge, holds the charge for hours of continual use, and saves you tons of money on batteries. The MSRP on the Camo LED Focus light is $39.99, and it will last for many years of service and tough handling. That’s a super great value in my book.
Quality
This is a top-quality flashlight. It packs a lot of functions in a lightweight and durable little package. I dropped it in the boat and was really pretty rough with it during the field testing process and it never missed a beat.
Reliability
If you keep the battery charged this little light will do its job. It runs a little longer between charges when used on the medium setting, but even when used on the high setting, it held a charge all night long.
Price/Value
At a suggested MSRP of $39.99 the Camo LED Focus Lite is a great value. It is well-made and should last for years of fishing trips.
Referability
I would refer this product to my friends or any member of my family. Two of my fishing buddies absolutely loved the strobe option when we were fishing in different boats–it made it very easy to identify and find each other. This little light just won’t let you down, and you can feel confident in telling your friends and family members about it.
