Registration Open for the JROTC Air Rifle Postal Competition
OutdoorHub 10.08.14
The 2014-2015 JROTC Postal Competition officially opened on Oct. 1, 2014 for young cadets in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force JROTC programs who would like to go score-to-score in this three-position match with other talented shooters across the nation.
To compete, registered participants will each receive three targets and instructions for recording scores. Shooters will fire in each of the three positions (prone, standing, kneeling) at their home ranges – using one target for each position. Once record shots are fired, shooters will return the targets to CMP for scoring.
As in years past, CMP staff members will verify scores using the Orion Visual Image Scoring system. Results will be posted within Competition Tracker for teams and individuals to check during the postal season.
MidwayUSA has again provided incredible donations to the JROTC Championships. This year, the organization will donate over $400,000 through generous endowments to winning teams and individuals. MidwayUSA is a leading U.S. firearms products retailer, committed to helping sustain junior shooting programs across the country.

Last year, over 8,025 JROTC shooters participated in the Postal Match with hopes of recording scores high enough to reach the Regional JROTC Service Championships. This year’s Regionals will be held in three locations: Anniston, AL; Camp Perry, OH; and a Western location, yet to be determined. Nationals will follow at Camp Perry, OH, for all service branches.
