Sportsman’s Original Show Produced by Pilgrim Studios Lauded in Best Show or Series Animals/Nature Category
Saving Private K-9, the Sportsman Channel original series, won the coveted and reputed CableFAX Program Award in the Best Show or Series Animals/Nature category. The CableFAX Program Awards were presented at the Loews Hollywood on October 14.
Saving Private K-9, hosted by actor and former Marine R. Lee Ermey (Full Metal Jacket), introduced viewers into the lives of military and law enforcement service dogs and their handlers. Each episode of Saving Private K-9 highlighted the dog’s battlefield training, heroic accomplishments, as well as their impact on those who have worked with them. Additionally, the show focused on the dogs’ lives after service, which often involves rigorous rehabilitation and adoption. The series is produced by Pilgrim Studios with Craig Piligian (executive producer), Brett Boydstun and Jacob Shelton.
“The viewer reaction to the show across Sportsman’s television, digital and social platforms was tremendous and passionate,” said Marc Fein, executive vice president of programming and production at Sportsman Channel. “Recognition with a CableFAX Program Award is an honor for all the hard work put forth by our Sportsman Channel team and production partner Pilgrim Studios.”
“We continue to have a great relationship with Sportsman Channel in producing compelling shows that highlight the extraordinary accomplishments of America’s everyday heroes,” said Pilgrim Studios CEO and Executive Producer Craig Piligian. “We’re proud to have Saving Private K-9 honored with a CableFAX Program Award.”
