Lancer Turns It Up to 11 with the 25-round L7AWM and One-piece Adaptive Magwell

Lancer Systems has made a name for itself in the AR world for its ultra-premium rifles and advanced polymer accessories, including the L5AWM and L7AWM magazines for 5.56 and .308 cartridges. This year at SHOT Show they introduced a host of new products, including a 25-round L7 and a one-piece version of their Adaptive Magwell.

The 25-round L7AWM is built using the same hybrid polymer and steel construction present in its lower-capacity predecessors. The upper body of the polymer magazine is reinforced with an internal steel front guard. The feed lips are also made of stainless steel and wrap around the rear of the magazine. The textured surface of the L7AWMs lend them just the right amount of “grippiness” without making them snag-prone. I used the L7AWMs extensively in my review of the Smith & Wesson M&P10, and they were by far my favorite magazine. The magazines are compatible with SR-25, DPMS 308, SIG716, and LM 308 rifle platforms.

The 25-round L7AWM will sell for $47.99 in opaque colors and $54.99 in translucent colors. They should be available beginning in late spring.

Lancer's one-piece Adaptive Magwell makes reloading much faster. It installs in seconds on any mil-spec AR lower with a winter trigger guard.

Lancer has also introduced a one-piece version of their Adaptive Magwell for 2015. The Adaptive Magwell is a simple accessory that will fit any mil-spec AR lower utilizing a winter trigger guard. It provides a flared magwell, helping to reduce reload times. The Adaptive Magwell can be installed in seconds without tools, other than a spare 5.56 cartridge. It weighs only 0.05 pounds and is machined from 6061 T6 aluminum.

The Adaptive Magwell will be available in March and will retail for $99.99.

I've been a history and gun enthusiast since I was a kid. I love to shoot just about anything, from silenced bolt-action .22s to fully automatic heavy machine guns, and I love even more when I get to write about them. My main interests are modern small arms and the military small arms of World War II and prior conflicts, with a particular focus on Russian and Finnish firearms. Reading about guns like the Mosin-Nagant rifle in books and on the internet got me interested in collecting, shooting, and writing about them, and I hope to do the same for others through my work.
