Firearms that fire from an open bolt—in which the bolt is held to the rear and is moved forward with a trigger pull—can be especially dangerous to those unfamiliar with them, as hickok45 demonstrates in this video.
“Open bolt select-fire machine pistols/subguns are different sort of animal, even slightly counter-intuitive when it comes to operating the bolt and such. There are things you do NOT want to do when operating them,” writes hickok45, who later goes on to demonstrate one way to safely clear a malfunction from a M11 SWD.
