The 10 Craziest Barehanded Animal Captures by Andrew Ucles

To people who don’t know him, Australian survival expert Andrew Ucles may seem a little unhinged. After all, you have to be a little crazy to catch an Australian tiger snake—commonly considered one of the world’s most venomous snakes—barehanded, just so you can use it to catch some rabbits for dinner.

Thank about that for a second. This is a man who grappled with a snake that carries a 40 to 60 percent untreated mortality rate, just so he could use it to put some rabbits in the pot for supper. That’s not even mentioning the time that he crawled into a wombat tunnel and got stuck, ambushed a kangaroo while pretending to be an emu, or wrestled with a fully grown deer. This is a list of Andrew’s greatest—or flat-out craziest—barehanded animal captures.

Keep in mind that the animals in these clips were released alive and unharmed. Also, please do not try any of these captures at home.
