Video: Death-defying Russian Rabbit Surfs Avalanche

Avalanches are serious business, but for this rabbit, one was just in the way.

This stunning video was filmed by the Russian tourist company Helipro in Kamchatka, Russia and follows professional snowboarder David Carrier Porcheron after he triggers an avalanche. The focus quickly leaves Porcheron, however, after a rabbit darts out of nowhere and charges straight into the avalanche. What would have normally been a suicidal move quickly turns into amazement for the filmmakers as the rabbit hops along the top of the moving avalanche and actually outruns it.

Maybe it just wanted to show off its avalanche surfing skills to the world. According to comments by the video’s maker, the rabbit survived.
