Friday, July 1- Kick off the holiday weekend with a bang at First Free Friday from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The museum is open and free to the public with docents in every gallery. The 257th Army Band, also known as the Band of the Nation’s Capitol will play on the outdoor stage starting at 6:30 p.m. Bring lawn chairs and a picnic and enjoy some great music. Also, cruise aboard the Wm. B. Tennison with free 30-minute boat rides sponsored by M&T Bank.
Monday, July 4- Catboats are returning to the Calvert Marine Museum Boat Basin. When not racing on the Patuxent River, catboats will on display from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Thursday, July 7- Sea Squirts: Be A Tree! A free drop-in program from 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. for toddlers 18 months – 3 years old and their caregivers.
Saturday, July 9- Sharkfest- A Fresh Attack! Don’t miss this popular family event from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. This year features the incredible work of underwater shark photographer Nick Caloyianis who, along with his daring diving partner Clarita Berger will be sharing his experiences diving with sharks around the world. Experience the shark cage used for their underwater photography and take your picture inside the cage swimming with the sharks ($2 fee). See incredible shark film footage, play shark games, enjoy fish face painting ($5 fee), paint a shark mural, make a shark craft, and see incredible shark fossils collected by the Fossil Club. Admission applies for non-members.
Saturday, July 16- Fossil Field Experience – Come explore and identify the fossils of Calvert Cliffs from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The fee is $20 per person, ages 8 and over. An adult must accompany any child under the age of 18. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Call 410-326-2042 ext. 41.

Friday, July 22- Maritime Performance Series presents DRAMTREE-O, an acoustic folk group based in Norfolk, Virginia, featuring the traditional music of North America, the British Isles, and the seven seas at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium. The eclectic mixture of songs reflects the joys and sorrows, hard work and hard luck, the high spirits and low humor of ordinary people around the world. Admission is $5 per person with cash or check accepted at the door. Wine, beer, and light bites by Lotus Kitchen for sale in the lobby beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, July 23- Sunset in the Tropics Cruise aboard the Wm. B. Tennison from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Listen to Key West style music and enjoyable tropical cuisine. Parrot Heads are welcome. Preregistration required. Call 410-326- 2042 ext. 41.
Thursday, July 28- Little Minnows: Your Wild Backyard. Children ages 3 – 5 years old are invited from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Fee is $4 for members and $5 for nonmembers. Space is limited. Pre-registration suggested. Call 410-326-2042 ext. 41.
Saturday, July 30- Lighthouse Adventure Cruise – Lighthouse cruisers will enjoy the Northern bay lighthouses aboard a private charter vessel. Departing from the Drum Point Lighthouse, see Cove Point, Thomas Point, Sandy Point, Bloody Point, and Sharpes Island lighthouses. The boat will stop at Cantler’s Restaurant for lunch. The cost is $130 for the day-long trip; lunch is on your own. Museum members pay $120. Register by June 25 and get the early bird special rate of $100. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Call 410-326-2042 ext. 41 to reserve your spot.
Saturday, July 30- Country music icon, Martina McBride, returns to the Calvert Marine Museum concert stage at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $45 for reserved seats and $55 for premium seats with additional fees applying. Purchase tickets at www.calvertmarinemuseum.com or call 1-800-787-9454.
The museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is $7.00 for adults, $6.00 for seniors and military with valid I.D., and $2.00 for children ages 5 – 12; children under 5 and museum members are always admitted free.
