Video: Stranded Great White Shark Saved by Beachgoers

This juvenile great white shark had beach-goers and staff to thank for a timely rescue after it stranded itself on a beach near Chatham, Massachusetts.

The great white was reportedly chasing after seagulls—which larger sharks can consume by attacking them from underwater—shortly before it beached itself. It’s not exactly a baby anymore, but it can certainly is helpless enough when rescuers came to its aid with buckets of water.

Visitors and beach staff kept the shark hydrated before using a rope to tow the shark back into the water. It took some time, but rescuers were eventually able to revive the shark and release it back into the ocean.
