RMI Guide Dave Hahn Returns to Antarctica’s Vinson Massif

RMI Guide Dave Hahn will return to Antarctica this winter to lead a climbing expedition on the Vinson Massif. At 16,067’, the Vinson Massif is the highest point in Antarctica. The mountain stands in the Ellsworth Mountains of Antarctica and is so remote it is only accessible by specialized ski plane. An expedition to Vinson typically takes over two weeks to complete.
Hahn led two successful expeditions up Vinson last winter and he currently holds the world record for the most ascents of the mountain with 29 summits. This coming winter Hahn will guide a team of climbers up the Vinson Massif for RMI Expeditions, departing for Antarctica on December 1st, 2012. On this expedition he will also be attempting to break his own record for the number of successful summits. “We are proud to have Dave’s experience and leadership on our climbs and excited about his upcoming climb,” said RMI Owner Peter Whittaker.
Hahn is a renowned mountaineer and guide. He is currently climbing Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world. On Mount Everest, Hahn also holds the record for the most non-Sherpa summits with 13 summits.
