Video: You Should Probably Never Get This Close to a Brown Bear

Personally, I wouldn’t like it very much if a brown bear decided to take up residence underneath my back porch. For the uploader of this video, however, it seems to be such a regular occurrence that he’s not even fazed by a couple of threatening swipes.
The individual recording the encounter took a methodical approach to dealing with the big bear—first, he got up-close and personal with the animal, described his plan of action for getting it out of his yard to an off-screen companion, and finally followed it as it left (complete with a parting gift from the bear—don’t watch around 3:10 if you’re squeamish).
My shooing process might have involved standing more than five feet away from the bear.
