Video: Hikers Unharmed after Terrifying Bridge Collapse

The last thing you expect to go wrong in the backcountry is a bridge collapse, but that’s exactly what happened to these french hikers.

Four french tourists were hiking through the backcountry of New Zealand when they came to a bridge crossing over a river. What should have been an easy way over the water turned into a nightmare when the bridge collapsed under their feet. According the the video description, the bridge had a ten person capacity so the cause of failure is unknown at this point. Luckily the hikers walked away from the 30 foot fall with nothing more than waterlogged equipment. If the bridge was any taller this could have been a very different story.
