Video: 15-year-old Designs, 3D-prints Functional 12 Gauge Slugs

Are these the first accurate 3D-printed slugs ever tested on video?

YouTuber TAOFLEDERMAUS seems to think they are and we agree. A 15-year-old fan of his channel sent him several of these rounds for testing after watching his other shotgun videos. The teenager said he modeled the design after air rifle pellets, which already have good ballistic characteristics. The 3D-printed slugs also have a metal core consisting of either bolts or steel BBs.

While these slugs actually had accuracy comparable to some commercial ammo, don’t expect to see rounds like these on the shelves anytime soon. The rounds are extremely light and they do not have good terminal ballistics, which rules them out for most applications.
