Video: Can a Spoon Stop a .22 LR Bullet?

You may think the answer is obvious, but you might be surprised.

In this experiment, Matt from Demolition Ranch tests to see how thick a spoon has to be to stop a .22 LR round. The four spoons he uses range from the cheap, flimsy kind that you can bend with your own hands, to a thick ice cream scooper that if it was any heavier, could be used as a bludgeon.

We’re not going to ruin the surprise, but suffice it to say that if all firearms were chambered in .22, then we might see a resurgence in improvised, medieval-style armor.
