Video: Is This the Lightest AR Handguard in the World?

Brigand Arms LLC has built what they claim is the lightest AR handguard in the world. Constructed out of patented carbon fiber braid, the company’s lineup starts at the nine-inch Edge at about three ounces and goes up to the company’s heaviest handguard—the six-ounce, 15-inch Atlas. That’s right, their heaviest handguard is six ounces.
According to Brigand Arms, their savings in the mass department don’t sacrifice strength.
“How strong is the handguard? We can hang 40 pound dumbbells from the end of it and swing them around with no signs of bending. Under controlled laboratory tests the handguards can support a force of 100 pounds in any direction, and 400 pounds along their length—more than even extreme users require,” the company stated on its website.
The handguard manufacturer also said that the unique, latticed design offers superior cooling—up to 70 percent faster than that of closed-wall competitors.

The handguards retail from $279 to $399.
What do you think? Would you use this on a lightweight AR build?
